Reader x Teen Titans Chapter 1

(Read Prologue first)

-“Excuse me, is there a reason you’re sat up here on this building?”…..

I was surprised and turned around startled. They definitely weren't there earlier, I only just sensed their presence as they spoke… -

Your P.O.V

I stood up and turned to the mysterious figure slowly, making sure my hood was still up, of course. I took note of the outfit this guy was wearing, skin tight, and quite revealing can I add. Defined muscles, he was strong. A cape, a little cliché. And a mask... but I didn't think Halloween was for another couple of months, why is he wearing a skull mask? ...with red lines on it?

Now things are getting awkward, I've just been staring at him!

"Is it of any concern to you? Last time I was here it wasn't a problem." I replied without a trace of emotion on my face or in my voice. I was good at that, in fact, I sometimes forget what some emotions feel like.

"No concern, it's just that you're in the way of my escape path, plus it's unusual to see a pretty girl alone on a rooftop."
Gross. Was he hitting on me? Is that the correct terminology? I don't even know, and escape route?

"What are you supposed to be escaping from?" I was curious now, in fact, I'm getting out of character.

"Curiosity killed the cat you know."

Ugh, I knew it was obvious. "But satisfaction bought it back. Besides, why tell me you're escaping something if you aren't willing to tell me what it is you're escaping." And I'm back into character.

"You're smart, but I'm afraid I'm going to keep it a secret, I wouldn't want to give you a bad first impression."

Okay, now I just gave him a look of complete confusion. First impressions? Why would I want to remember this weird kind of situation, I'm not used to this much interaction in the middle of the night. "What do you mean by first impressions? I don't even know your..."

He interrupted me. "The name's Red X, what might your name be?"
Now, I had to be careful, can I trust him enough? I just met the guy; of course I can't trust him. Then again, what're the chances I'll ever see him again, and no one knows my name in this city, so I can't be tracked at all.

"My name is _________, now tell me this, are you some kind of villain, hero, or a low-life criminal with an identity to protect?" I was sure he was one of these things, taking his outfit into account.

"The only crime here is that we've never met before cutie, well, see you around __________". And with that he was gone. Hmmm, Red X, that explains the two red lines on his mask...wait...

What the hell just happened? What do I do now? I guess I'll just sit back down again, where was I... Oh yeah, looking at the stars. Oh well, I'll just head back home instead.

---------------------Time skip to apartment-------------------

I looked up at the old, shabby apartment. I can't believe they're going to demolish this place next month. I live there, I make do there, and it’s free, or should I say abandoned. It's on the outskirts of Jump City, I've lived here for about a year now, living off the money I stole from the family safe before running away. Its also a pretty good deal here, rent is free as no one knows I'm here, furniture was left behind in all the different rooms, I just moved it all into one room. I'm not even here very often, I just come here to sleep and maybe hide if I needed to. I don't get cold very easily either, and if I did then I'd just make a fire. Oh, did I forget to mention that? Yeah, I can make fire, one of my 'powers'. I'm actually an elementalist, but unlike most elementalists who can only control 1 element, I can control the four main elements and a few sub-elements.

Altogether, I can control; fire, earth, water/ice, air, metals, electricity and shadows.  However the last one, shadows, that isn't a physical attack, but more psychological. I also have heightened senses, but they didn't come naturally, but that's a story for another day. This is the reason I don't want to get too close to the Teen Titans. Out of all of them, Raven would definitely be able to sense my presence.

*Yawns*

Oh well, I need sleep, I wonder how early I'll wake up this time...

-------------------------Meanwhile----------------------------

3rd Person P.O.V

The Teen Titans were in high speeds heading to a robbery of a museum happening in the middle of Jump City, unsure of who the criminal was yet. Raven, Starfire and BeastBoy were in the air, Robin and Cyborg in the T Car.

"Alright, what are the bets, who's it going to be that we're gonna put in jail people?" Asked Cyborg, the half robot, half man.

"Cyborg, now isn't the time for jokes, this is serious and it's imperative for us to stay vigilant", Robin, the boy wonder replied.

"Ahhh stop being so uptight, because we are going to whoop some butt!" Cyborg was intent on keeping his cool exterior.

The five teens arrived at the scene and walked into the museum. The place had just opened the new 'Ancient Egyptian' exhibit. The place didn't seem to be broken into either, everything looked normal, no broken glass, no broken cabinets, and not even any footprints.

"Are you sure this is the place Robin? Because I can't see a single thing out of place", stated Raven, the dark energy wielding telekinetic.

"Friend Raven is correct friend Robin, I also cannot see any robbing of the museum", agreed the Tameranian named Starfire.

"Aww dude, tell me this wasn't a prank, because if it was, I am gonna flip!" Beastboy the green changling stated.

"Show yourself..." Robin started, talking into the seemingly empty room of the exhibit, "...It's not like you to hide, Red X." As he said this, you could hear a slight growl in the back of his throat.
The rest of the Titans looked shocked and started to scan the room for the so-mentioned villain.

"You're getting better at this game kid," Red X replied, suddenly appearing in the middle of the room, in front of the teens.

"Well, I've got what I came for, I should go." Red X said coolly, starting to walk towards the door, and also towards the Titans.

"Titans, GO!" Alarmed Robin, and off the team set.

Starfire started off the fight with her green star bolts, shooting one after another, but to no avail as Red X used his quick agility to evade every single one. This little charade didn't last too long, as Red X threw a gooey X her way. It exploded just in front of her and she was trapped in goo. Next to attack was Cyborg and Raven, but as Raven started her chant, Red X threw an X that covered her mouth, and flung her to the nearest wall, keeping her pinned. Cyborg let off a sonic blast from his hand canon, to land a direct hit on his target, but it wasn't too much advantage as Red X just stood up and brushed it off. Suddenly another X was flung from the villain’s hand that then landed on the robot-man. A few sparks flew and Cyborg was shut down. Beastboy then turned into a snake and threw himself at the criminal, but noticed his plan backfired as Red X dodged to the left slightly, grabbed his tail, and threw the green snake at Robin, causing BB to wrap and coil around his leader.

Red X then made his escape, without allowing the Boy Wonder to fight him. He made his way to the rooftops where he had planned the beginning of his escape route. He was gone.

"Beastboy, transform back to normal, and let me go!" Robin was agitated, and frustrated that his arch nemesis didn't even give him a one on one fight and got away, again. BB transformed and then went over to Starfire, while Robin went over to Raven. BB changed into an elephant and sprayed away the goop that was giving the Tameranian trouble. Robin was able to free Raven from her temporary muzzle, and she then set work on restarting Cyborg. That night, the Titans went back to their tower, disappointed, as the same enemy keeps getting away from them, knowing their weakness's.

Your P.O.V

Morning light creeped in through the rips in the curtains and landed on my face, causing me to wake up. I grunted slightly and pulled my wrist up to my face, attempting to read the time on my watch, but finding it difficult as my eyes were still adjusting.

6:55 am. Well, that's the earliest this week. Deciding I shouldn't waste my time trying to get back to sleep, I got dressed and went out for a walk.

The sun is still rising, and the city still seems to be asleep, shops and markets are just beginning to open too. As I was walking down the street, I walked past an electronic store, and the TV in the window caught my eye. As I watched more, it turned out to be the news, with the headline,

'Notorious villain known as Red X robs city museum. He evaded the Teen Titans once again, getting away with an extremely valuable diamond from the ages of Egyptians. This precious gem is valued at 750,000.'

This then got me thinking. Red X... where have I heard that before... Oh! He's the guy who I met yesterday, the Halloween guy! He said we was planning an escape route and. . . . . uh oh, did I break the law by withholding information? Ah well, what to do today?

Hmm, well, I want to go to the park today, that strange man that plays guitar will be there, and he is really good. I love to listen to it from afar.
